about your CV

for jobseekers

A CV or resume [technically two different things, but here the two terms are used interchangeably] can take a very long time to compile properly, and - this is the bit that may be painful - after all those hours, the result may be worse than useless!

Busy employers are understandably easily irritated by CVs that waste their time. Don't let yours irritate a potential employer - instead, aim to
impress by the ease with which your document can be read and understood.

The biggest single fault with the majority of CVs is that they are much too long. The completed CV is best if it is just one or two pages (the shorter the better, within reason) and is worded very concisely - that means 'maximum meaning in minimum words'.
